Originally the water feature was intended to be at the top of the drive where the car port is now, and it was going to be an integral part of a dry waterfall which would continue down to the pool terrace level... Unfortunately, that was going to involve an awful lot of rock-moving, and a lot of water-recycling, together with the inevitable loss of water, and we decided to have another think.
The new-look water feature is going to be a small recycling unit with a sump and a small pump. It will be in the gravel on the pool terrace, near to the shaded seating area, so that you can sit in the shade when it is very hot and listen to the refreshing sound of running water. We are hoping to get a pre-drilled piece of rock through which the water will rise to cascade down the sides and back to the sump, where the pump will aid it on its way again. With the judicious planting of a few cactuses and succulents it should look very good set in the cream-coloured gravel.
Unfortunately, we can't get it done until after the pool is finished...so, no photos yet!
