Red Hat Society Meetings Index
The main purpose of this meeting was to get all the members registered on the Red Hat Society's website as members of the Red September chapter, and this we achieved. And we actually had all our members present, with the exception of our honorary French member, Hélène.
In addition we discussed what sort of things we should be doing for future meetings and, after showing ourselves off in the local bars and cafes, top of the list was line dancing, followed by Colour Analysis and various kinds of cooking and eating!
Fina had brought a lovely Spanish concoction of almond cake covered in the traditional mountain of cream, and Doreen brought some Welsh scones—homemade, of course—and some paté. Added to the bread, cheese and olives there was plenty to keep us going...at least, until dinnertime!
Jean, our newest member, had arrived at Alicante airport from England about midday, and came to join in as soon as she had dropped her case and had a cup of tea. She and Derek have a holiday home on Montesano as they are much too young to retire!
Jill came straight from her Spanish class and took the opportunity to continue practising her Spanish with Fina, who had been valiantly practising her English up to then!
Our next meeting will be at 2.30pm on Friday 7 May and we shall be sashaying in full regalia from the Glorieta down the Marques de Campo in Denia to some lucky restaurant of our choice to take tapas. Watch for the reports in the local papers!
